Glasgow - Who's Sorry Now?



Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn posted a 'vox pop' on Twitter the other day explaining why Scotland needs Labour councils across the country.

Yet so far, in Scotland's largest council, Labour has still not managed to deliver on its call for an apology to thousands of low paid, predominantly female council workers whose equal pay claims Labour-run Glasgow City Council resisted for 10 long years.

 On the advice of the highest paid senior officials in Scottish local government which was accepted without question or hesitation, of course, by Glasgow City Council's political leaders.

Labour can't even organise an apology to thousands of equal pay claimants in Glasgow, Scotland's largest council and a former Labour stronghold. Despite the party's Scottish leader, Richard Leonard, calling for such an apology absolutely nothing has happened!

SNP - Conspiracy of Silence

So here's the issue - two Glasgow MSPs (Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf) have been asked a reasonable question about their use of public money to employ two SNP councillors who already have full-time, salaried jobs as senior elected members of Glasgow City Council.   But these two public servants (both long-serving ministers) refuse to answer, so what to do next? One regular reader suggests raising the matter on the floor of the Scottish Parliament which is a good idea, but requires an MSP who's prepared to put down a written question for Scottish Ministers to answer.
